EastGro 2011 will be held on Wednesday 3rd August at Howard Nurseries, Wortham, Diss.
Since its conception 30 years ago, EastGro has been held at Howard Nurseries a number of times and it has always proved to be a popular venue. EastGro is delighted to return there to celebrate its 30th birthday!
The first EastGro exhibition was held as a talking shop to encourage growers and retailers to work together to create product – it had been felt that growers tended to grow the plants they loved – not necessarily the plants that would sell – and that retailers did not care for or promote plants sufficiently.
So growers and industries connected to plant ‘product’ got together so they and retailers could discuss future plans.
EastGro proved to be able to do that job well, and grew over the years. Being a small regional show it has been able to retain its friendly atmosphere, and the excellent catering offered has encouraged visitors to view a visit as an enjoyable day out as well as being a good business venue.
Howard Nurseries will be running their site tours throughout the day to add to the experience.
Special for 2011 are Workshops by the Horticultural Development Company for ornamental plant growers to be held in a special marquee at the entrance. There will be one in the morning and one in the afternoon – to book in please email info@eastgro.co.uk.
Trials in hand include:
- Green-tech to see their Chlorine Dioxide system Hydromax in action.
- Melcourt trialling their peat free Silvermix and weed suppression products.
- Scotts
Exhibitors are booking up well – there are still a few stands available, and outside space can be taken. This year the show will be in a marquee at the top of the site. The catering will be in a new packing shed nearby, and will be of the usual high EastGro standard.
